Ladies and gentlemen, I must start by revealing a secret: I’m not who you think I am. Yes, I’m John Circa, a full stack developer by day, but by night, I moonlight as a covert agent from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Okay, that’s not true at all, but hey, we’re here to have some fun, right?

This article marks my inaugural foray into the world of writing. As someone who usually spends their time deciphering lines of code, the prospect of composing words on a blank screen is as daunting as trying to teach a cat to play the piano. But bear with me; we’re about to embark on a journey into the fascinating realm of work from home, Montani Converge, and a memorable night out with my colleagues.

As a self-proclaimed full stack developer, I must admit that I’ve spent my fair share of time navigating a tangled web of Python, JavaScript, and CSS. It’s a job that requires patience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to resist the urge to hurl your computer out the window when your code refuses to cooperate. I often wonder if the computer is conspiring against me, and honestly, it probably is.

But let’s get down to business (not the undercover DOLE business, I promise). Working from home has been a game-changer for me. Not only does it allow me to ditch the morning commute in favor of wearing pajamas all day, but it also energizes me like a double shot of espresso. The freedom to work from the cozy confines of my home has enabled me to invest more time in the truly important things in life, like mastering the art of making the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.

And speaking of the important things, there was a momentous event that recently transpired. On September 10, 2023, we hosted Montani Converge, a face-to-face gathering that brought our remote team together. It was like seeing long-lost friends in person. We shared stories, ideas, and, of course, drinks.

Ah, yes, the drinks. Let me regale you with the tale of two others, whom I shall leave unnamed. When the mobile bar called it a night at midnight, we took it upon ourselves to continue our merry adventure, bonding and laughing until the clock struck 3 a.m. No espionage missions, just a bunch of colleagues enjoying each other’s company.

In the end, I may not be a DOLE agent, but I am indeed John Circa, your friendly neighborhood full stack developer. And while this might be my first and hopefully last attempt at writing an article, I’ll leave the night’s adventures to your imagination while I stick to writing code. After all, there are more pajamas to wear and grilled cheese sandwiches to perfect. Keep coding and embracing the quirks of remote work. After all, it’s where the magic happens - even if it involves a few mishaps along the way!
